Furthermore, we are introducing BIPV, a new innovation in Thailand, making it the second country in Asia to produce and distribute these products.”

“Currently, the solar business is highly competitive. Although we have received more customer interest than in the past, we must continue to develop ourselves and select products with new technologies and beautiful designs to provide more options for customers. We have primarily targeted factories, schools, hotels, golf courses, housing projects, and single-family homes. Now, we are expanding our customer base to include both B2B and B2C segments with specific needs, as there is still a significant market gap for these customers. This collaboration with LONGi presents a great opportunity for NEPS.”

Mr. Ma Meng, Country Manager for Thailand and Vietnam at LONGi Green Energy Technology Co., Ltd., said, “LONGi entered the Thai solar market in 2017 due to the growing demand for solar energy in Thailand, coupled with the country's liberalization of technology. The government currently has numerous solar energy policies, such as the Feed-in Tariff (FIT) for electricity purchase, the Utility Green Tariff (UGT) for promoting green electricity, carbon market promotion, and BOI tax mechanisms. These factors have accelerated the growth of the Thai solar market. According to BNEF data, since 2020, LONGi has maintained its position as the world's number one solar panel manufacturer. Our primary focus is on investing in research and development (R&D), with a budget of billions of dollars, which is the largest investment in a solar panel manufacturing company, to acquire new technologies that enhance energy production efficiency, such as BC (Back Contact) technology, which allows solar panels to absorb light effectively in low-light areas, increasing energy production efficiency for both products launched today.”
Regarding the collaboration with NEPS, Mr. Ma Meng added, “We see NEPS's strengths in various aspects, including their vision to drive clean energy to transform the world towards a sustainable future, adhering to principles of responsibility to customers, society, and the environment. NEPS's marketing approach emphasizes providing knowledge and a One Stop Solution service, enabling them to reach a diverse and comprehensive customer base. We are confident in choosing to introduce LONGi's innovative products through NEPS as the first and only market opener in Thailand, including the “HI-MO X6 Ultra Black,” which has won two international awards: the A’ Design Award & Competition and the French Design Awards. Furthermore, LONGi is also a pioneer in the development and production of BIPV, which enhances competitive potential in solar technology by integrating with building materials to create green buildings that not only generate electricity but also provide thermal insulation and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This elevates the energy business in Thailand to the next level, and we believe that this collaboration with NEPS will further enhance the efficiency and growth of the Thai solar business.”
On the launch of the new products, Dr. Suthi Traivithana, Sales Director at LONGi, added, “LONGi's product R&D team has implemented BC (Back Contact) technology, which connects all circuits at the back of the cell, allowing the panel's surface to receive 100% light, resulting in a higher electricity production efficiency of over 25%. The “HI-MO X6 Ultra Black” solar panel performs well in high-temperature and low-radiation conditions, achieving an electricity production efficiency of up to 23.2% with dimensions of 1722 x 1134 x 30 mm, using a special POE film that encapsulates the solar cells, which is highly durable even in high-temperature and humidity environments, along with a luxurious design featuring a deep black panel and a rough surface that minimizes light reflection, enhancing light absorption. This makes it suitable for installation on residential rooftops, providing both energy savings and aesthetic appeal, with a warranty of 25 years for the panel and materials, and a 30-year warranty for electricity production efficiency, which is the highest warranty in Thailand.”
“Meanwhile, the “BIPV” or building-integrated photovoltaic cells integrate solar panels with external building materials, such as walls, windows, façades, and glass openings, allowing buildings to harness solar energy from all sides. LONGi is a leading company in the world that has independently developed and produced 100% BIPV with a maximum efficiency of 25.80%. In terms of design, it can match any architectural style and can be customized in size, shape, and color. LONGi has established five primary colors suitable for building design: Ocean Blue, Space Gray, Eclipse Red, Galaxy Silver, and Cosmic Beige. If customers desire colors outside of these five, they can specify colors based on the exterior color codes of their buildings, with a product warranty of 15 years, a 25-year energy production warranty, and a 10-year color warranty.”
From the perspective of a designer, Mr. Winyu Vanichsiriroj, CEO of Workwell Studio Co., Ltd. and Secretary and Board Member of the Thailand Green Building Institute, stated, “The recent severe climate crisis has prompted all sectors to seek ways to reduce environmental impacts, including the construction industry, which has adopted Green Building practices to address global environmental issues. Installing solar panels is one of the crucial solutions to combat global warming and climate change sustainably. Moreover, there are now solar panels that can be appropriately installed on homes or buildings, featuring beautiful shapes and colors that enhance the aesthetics of the property, such as the “HI-MO X6 Ultra Black” solar panel, which is smaller than standard panels but offers greater efficiency than larger solar panels. The BIPV panels are an interesting new product because they can utilize the opaque walls of buildings, which, according to energy-saving principles, should have a Windows to Wall Ratio of less than 0.5, meaning that more than half of the building must be designed with strong construction materials that protect against external conditions such as sunlight, wind, rain, humidity, and air pressure. Just imagine how great it would be if these opaque walls could generate electricity from sunlight, reducing electricity costs and generating income for the project throughout the building's lifespan. Lastly, I believe that solar technology will continue to evolve and can create significant changes in the world.”
Overall, the solar market is expected to continue growing. **According to the TTB Economic Analysis Center, since 2022, the rooftop solar market in Thailand has grown at an average of 22% per year and is projected to reach 67 billion baht by 2025. This growth is driven by rapidly developing and efficient solar solutions, making rooftop solar more accessible than before. Additionally, changing societal behaviors, such as increased work-from-home arrangements, the aging population predominantly living at home, the rise of electric vehicles (EVs), and the growing trend of pet ownership (Pet Humanization), along with rising electricity costs, are all factors contributing to the growth of the rooftop solar market.
“Therefore, marketing efforts to develop products and highlight their efficiency, beauty, and environmental friendliness are crucial. NEPS being the first and only distributor in Thailand for the “HI-MO X6 Ultra Black,” which offers high efficiency and beautiful design, will present a seamless black panel when installed on rooftops, suitable for luxury homes. This represents a significant opportunity for NEPS to elevate products for consumers while reinforcing the shared vision with LONGi to drive sustainable environmental initiatives,” Mr. Treerat concluded.
